For many years she worked with some of the area’s most talented designers, creating florals for hundreds of weddings. Monica realized that couples wanted personal attention and guidance, as she was being asked to stay longer onsite, handle logistics, coordinate bridal processions and manage last minute issues. In 2010 Monica Relyea Events launched, providing full event planning and management, with a personalized approach to wedding planning.
Couples turn to Monica as the ideal project manager, overseeing timelines, curating the perfect vendor list and coordinating all the moving pieces. This process helps relieve the stress for couples during wedding planning and allows them to be present on wedding day. Her breadth of experience gives insight into creating an event that works well at all levels. With a background in fund-raising - via both corporate and non-profit companies, Monica has worked on events of all scales. With two Guinness World record events under her belt, several Walkway Over the Hudson State Park fundraising galas and NY State Special Olympic Opening Ceremonies, Monica has always stayed connected to her community and sensitive to budgetary constraints.

When Monica isn’t creating events you will find her spending time with her best friend, her husband, dreaming of the next house project. Being anywhere with her children, laughing and making memories with her friends. Spending time on the Cape soaking up the warm sun. Gardening and collecting eggs from her beautiful hens. Drinking red wine or creating the perfect charcuterie board. Collecting vintage finds, especially dish patterns and landscape prints. Drinking coffee, lots of coffee. Driving the countryside and dreaming of putting up big white tents!

Located next to Metro-North train station in historic downtown Poughkeepsie, NY, the studio is filled with pieces curated from throughout the Hudson Valley, bringing Monica’s personal style from home to the space. Her collection of eclectic pieces is mixed with some of the areas top rental wares which are showcased to welcome and inspire those who visit.
The Hudson Valley has become a favored wedding destination, with picturesque landscapes, quaint towns and untouched beauty. If you're looking to take advantage of the scenic Hudson River views or a historic village in the area, Monica can help.
The studio is by appointment only, where couples can peruse place settings and linens, meet with Monica or collaborate with her favorite creatives.
